Paid summer internship at WebMD’s Atlanta office.
The student would be part of our news team and would research and write health news stories and help publish news content.
The description is here:
The person doesn’t necessarily have to have a health journalism background, but it is crucial they have some news reporting background. This is truly a hands-on internship; our student from last summer wrote a story practically every day. Past interns have written stories ranging from product recalls to topics trending on social media to longer pieces on food adulteration, pool contamination and egg freezing.
Seacrest Studios at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Summer volunteer opportunity
Open to all journalism majors but must have an interest in broadcasting and children.
4-6 hours per week (beginning the week of June 4 through August 3)
Offered to rising juniors and seniors
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to uplift the spirits of hospitalized children through multimedia broadcast centers in the best pediatric hospitals in the country. Seacrest Studios opened in November 2010 at the Egleston campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Thanks to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, patients at Children’s now have the ability to explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media right from their hospital rooms. We are one of just a handful of children’s hospitals nationwide to have this resource available to our patients and families. It is our goal at Seacrest Studios to create happy memories for patients and their families during their hospital stay. The internship at Seacrest Studios is part of Children’s volunteer program and looks for dedicated college radio/television/film broadcasting students that have an interest in the communications/journalism field.
